The Clean Earth Trust Acquire Electric Van Thanks to Supporters

The Clean Earth Trust, a local charity whose stated aim is “limiting human impact on the environment”, has recently acquired an electric van allowing them to continue their valuable work within the community.

The charity previously used an old petrol van that became unsafe to drive, which threatened the charity’s ability to run events. The Clean Earth Trust run bi-weekly beach cleans open to the public, and several beach clean events for corporate clients. Through its Repair Cafe, it also runs events focussed on repairing clothing and artifacts and hosts clothes swaps.  Having a reliable van is essential for the smooth running of these events.

With thanks to Suntera Global, who sponsor the Clean Earth Trust, and to Titan Wealth CI and others, the purchase of an electric van was made possible.

“Having a fully electric van helps us operate as sustainably as possible in our efforts to protect our marine environment from pollution caused by marine litter and to encourage a repair, re-purpose and reuse approach to clothing and household items through our Repair Cafe events,” says Paul Bugden, Policy Officer for the Trust.

“Hosting monthly clothes swaps was nearly impossible without a van”, adds Emily Gabb, Repair Cafe Manager, “we were having to rely on volunteers to use their own vehicles, so the addition of the van is amazing for the Repair Cafe”.

The Clean Earth Trust would like to thank everyone who donated to the electric van, which has been fundamental to our ability to carry on with our work in the community.
